Ms. Shirley M. Strait, 76, of Taylorville, IL formerly of Peoria and Bulpitt, IL passed away at 9:25 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2016 in Taylorville Care Center.

Shirley was born in Peoria, IL December 9, 1939 the daughter of James V. and Marie E. (Warren) Halsted.  Ms. Strait was a member of ST. Rita Catholic Church in Kincaid, IL.  She worked as a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Units’ of both Procter Hospital in Peoria and later at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL from 1990 to 2006.  Shirley loved crossword puzzles, reading, playing Bingo and spending time with her family.

Surviving are a daughter Tamara “Tammy” Cisek; 2 grandchildren Zachary Strait and Kristin Miller all of Taylorville, IL a sister Nancy (Gerald) Snider of Bulpitt, IL and a brother in law Edward Hill of Brimfield, IL along with several nieces, nephews and other relatives in the Peoria area.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Linda Hill.

Graveside memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2016 in St. Patrick Cemetery, Kickapoo, IL.  Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid is assisting the family with arrangements.  Condolences may also be left at mastersonfh.com and will be forwarded to her family.
