Derrick D. “Ricky” Kounse, 38, of Bulpitt, IL died Sunday, January 8, 2017 south of Kincaid.

He was born in Peoria, IL May 30, 1978 the son of Douglas and Rosemarie (Brown) Kounse.

Ricky worked for National Energy Corporation of Vincennes, IN with James German on the oil well routes.  He would give you the shirt off his back and help anyone in need however he could.   He loved working hard, riding 4 wheelers, drinking beer, hanging out at the river and spending time with his family and all of his friends. 

Surviving are 2 sisters; Naomi Brown, and Mandy (Traviss) Burke all of Taylorville, IL 2 nieces Brooke and Cloe, a nephew Traviss, aunts and uncles including Barbara (Jim) Berringer of NC, David (Debbie) Brown of SC, Karen (Dale) Miller of Taylorville, Mary (Arthur) Ward of NC, John (Rhonda) Brown of Tovey, IL Linda (LeRoy) Ackerman, Herman (Stephanie) Brown and Patti Brown all of Taylorville, IL along with many cousins, and a host of friends including one of his best friends Jeff (Susan) Daugherty of Kincaid, IL.

He was preceded in death by his mother, brothers Herman and Kristopher Kounse, a sister Karin Kounse his grandparents and an aunt.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2017 at Masterson Funeral Home, Kincaid, IL.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Pawnee, IL.  Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 am at the funeral home.
