Mr. Don Owens, 76, of Bulpitt, IL passed away at 3:03 P.M. Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Taylorville, IL  on January 1, 1940 the son of Otis and Mary Catherine “Mamie” (Graham) Owens.

Mr. Owens served in the U.S. Army.   Don worked for coal mines here and in southern Illinois.   He loved fishing, camping, and spending time with friends and family.

Surviving are: 2 daughters Susan Lincoln Westmoreland, CA., Dawn Simmons of Colorado,  3 sisters Theodis “Stub” (Robert) Davis, Theresa Thomas, Meda Ann (David) Durbin, 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Owens was preceded in death by 2 sons Dareck A. and Aaron L. Owens, his parents Otis and Mamie, a brother Douglas Owens and 4 sisters Leona Tex, Rita Crowder, Marilyn Wilson and Florence Ellrich.

Mr. Owens will be cremated.  Masterson Funeral Home, Kincaid is assisting the family with arrangements.
