Wilton Lynn, or Coach as he came to be lovingly known, believed in the tenet of angels unaware—that we encounter divine messengers in ordinary-looking people without realizing it, so we should be kind to everyone. Wilton may have been one of those angels, having spread so much love and kindness, giving anything he had, even the shoes off his feet. Certainly, many hearts are heavy at his passing, but he wouldn’t want us to mourn, because now he has his wings and is catching up with his beloved wife Shelby, his mother and sisters, and the many loved ones who went before him. So go for a bike ride, watch an episode of Gunsmoke, have an ice cream, and practice kindness in his honor.
Wilton leaves behind his daughters Gloria and Serena, grandchildren Steve, Kaitie, Benjamin, and Leah and great grandchildren Porter and Fletcher.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 25, at the Taylorville Southern Baptist Church at 1121 N. Webster Street. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. and the service will begin at 1:00.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Wilton’s memory to the Taylorville Southern Baptist Church.
