Virginia Elizabeth (Brucker) Taylor

Mrs. Virginia Elizabeth Taylor, 99, of Kincaid, IL passed from this life at 2:52 a.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at High Point Residence in Taylorville, IL.

She was born in Cropsey, IL on July 31, 1925, the daughter of Louis and Lillian (Kerber) Brucker.  Virginia married Roy Allen Taylor on February 29, 1944, in Champaign, IL.  For over 40 years she assisted her husband in operating Taylor’s Well Service in Anchor, IL, while being a full-time mother to 14 children.  She and her husband enjoyed over 70 years of marriage before his passing.  

Virginia is survived by her loving family, and long-time close friends, Jean Garner and Ginny Taylor.  Her surviving  children are: Michael (Kathy) Taylor of Harper, TX; Roger (Mary Anne) Taylor of Phoenix, AZ; Jo (Ron) Louie of Hillsboro, OR; Terry (Mary) Taylor of Bellaire, TX; Jack (Holly) Taylor of Springfield, IL; Kristine (Dan) Conway of Fairfax, VA; Kathy Braun of Cedar Park TX; Patricia (Loren) Taylor-Harriet of Woodland Hills, CA; Julie (James) Loxterman of Columbus, OH; Tracy (Julie) Taylor of Fairbury, IL; and Todd (Betsy) Taylor of Colfax, IL.  Also surviving are a brother Bernard Brucker of Colfax, IL; 31 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Taylor (June 10, 2014), three children (Susan Lynn Taylor-Wilson, Ricky Allen Taylor, and Phillip Andrew Taylor), her parents, and 4 brothers and 3 sisters. 

Virginia gratefully received outstanding care in her final months from the skilled and loving teams at High Point Residence and Hands of God Hospice.  A longtime resident of Kincaid, IL, she was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kincaid. 

Funeral services will be held at St. Rita’s Catholic Church, 30 St. Ritas Ct., Kincaid, IL on Friday, January 10, at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Rodney Schwartz officiating.  Burial will follow at Wiley Cemetery in Colfax, IL. at 1:30 P.M.  Visitation for Mrs. Virginia E. Taylor will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 am at St. Rita’s. on Friday, January 10, 2024.  Memorials in loving memory of Mrs. Taylor are suggested to: the Christian County Animal Shelter, 300 S. Baughman Rd. Taylorville, IL 62568.
