Mrs. Veva L. Cargnino, 92, of Taylorville, IL formerly of Kincaid, passed away at 1:55 am Thursday, September 27, 2012 in Taylorville Care Center.

She was born in Carlinville, IL January 27, 1920 the daughter of Walter B. and Jean (Elliott) Hammer. Veva married Tony Cargnino on December 23, 1939 in Auburn, IL.

Mrs. Cargnino had worked for Pepsi Cola Bottling Co and later for The State of Illinois. She was affiliated with Midland United Methodist Church.

Surviving are: 1 son Ronald Cargnino of Tovey, IL 2 grandchildren Chad (Kathy) Cargnino of Springfield, IL and Stephanie (Dennis) Streitmatter of Princeville, IL 5 great-grandchildren Camille (Michael) Allen, Marina Cargnino, Aleta Cargnino, Keenan Streitmatter, Kenedi Streitmatter 2 great-great-grandchildren Kiah Allen and Bryar Allen along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tony on March 27, 2003, 1 brother Nelson and 3 sisters Leona, Ethel and Thelma, a grandson Kirk Andrews and a daughter in law Connie.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 am Monday, October 1, 2012 in Masterson Funeral Home, Kincaid. Rev. Chad Foster officiated. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, IL. Visitation for Mrs. Cargnino was held from 5 to 7 pm Sunday, Sept. 30 at Masterson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Midland United Methodist Church, Kincaid, IL
