Mr. Thomas Edward Welge, 80, of Highland, IL formerly of Langleyville, Kincaid and Moweaqua, IL passed away at 9:29 am Thursday, October 24, 2013 in Christian Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

He was born May 25, 1933 in Taylorville, IL the son of Roy and Charlotte (Mundhenke) Welge. Thomas married Crella Jane Smith December 31, 1955 in Midland United Methodist Church, Kincaid, IL. She survives.

Mr. Welge was a self-employed farmer, farming near Nokomis and Morrisonville, IL. He is a former member of Midland United Methodist Church, Kincaid, and attended Bethel Baptist Church in Troy, IL. Thomas enjoyed fishing and gardening and he especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife Crella of Highland, IL., 2 sons Scott (Julie) Welge of Chapel Hill, NC., and Randy (Becky) Welge of Litchfield, IL., 5 grandchildren Morgan and Cassidy Welge of Chapel Hill, NC., Brock (Rachel) Welge of Lake Stevens, WA., Blake (Kalen) Welge of Morton, IL., Brooke (Eric) Stoff of Peru, IN., 3 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters Betty Hill of Taylorville, IL., Lois Hill of Springfield, IL., Myrtle Bristol of Springfield, IL., along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Harold and Fred Welge, and 3 sisters Joan Gudausky, Lucille Welge and Petronella Welge.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 am Monday, October 28, 2013 in Midland United Methodist Church, Kincaid, IL. Pastor Linda Vonck officiated. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, IL. Visitation was held from 9 to 10 am at Midland United Methodist Church. Masterson Funeral Home, Kincaid handled arrangements.
