Thomas Francis Ford

Mr. Thomas F. Ford, 87, of Taylorville, IL passed from this life Saturday, July 20, 2024 in Florida.

He was born in Springfield, IL July 23, 1936, the son of Francis W. and Ellen (Cleary) Ford.

Thomas married Della D. “Dee” (Wargo) Ford on June 6, 1959 at Sacred Heart Church in Virden, IL. 

Mr. Ford graduated from St. Agnes Grade School in Springfield, IL Virden High School with the Class of 1959 and Southern Illinois University in Carbondale with a degree in Certified Public Accounting in 1961.  Thomas worked as a C.P.A. and founded the firm Ford and Company CPA’s in 1987.  He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Stonington, IL., a life member of the Taylorville Kiwanis Club, member of the Illinois CPA Society, former Director of the Bank of Assumption, Past Board Member and President of Taylorville Memorial Hospital Foundation, and member of the Taylorville Chamber of Commerce and Taylorville Y.M.C.A.  Thomas honorably served in the United States Army and the Army Reserve.

Surviving are his loving wife of 65 years, Mrs. Della “Dee” Ford of Taylorville, IL a daughter Laura Lee Ford of Springfield, IL along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Mary Ellen Tucker.

Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, August 23, 2024 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 308 S. Pine Street, Stonington, IL.  Fr. Mariadas Chatla will officiate. After a luncheon, burial will follow at Virden Cemetery, Virden, IL.  Visitation for Mr. Thomas Francis Ford will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. on the day of his services at the church.  In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to: Taylorville Y. M. C. A. 900 McAdam Dr, Taylorville, IL 62568.
