Sterling D. Greenleaf

Sterling D. Greenleaf, 86, of Taylorville, IL died at 6:25 a.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Taylorville Care Center.

He was born November 28, 1937 in Augusta, IL the son of Sterling A. and Zelma M. (Sargent) Greenleaf.

Sterling married Betty Lou Heintz on May 27, 1999 in Taylorville, IL and she preceded him in death December 13, 2006.

Sterling retired as a union plumber.  He had served in the U.S. Navy and enjoyed spending time with his friends.

Surviving are his son Matthew Greenleaf of Springfield, IL his step children Connie Beaman of Langleyville, IL., Ramona (Greg) Niehaus of Pawnee, IL., Regina (Joe) Johnson of Decatur, IL., Michael (Cindy) Mills of Kincaid, IL., Robert Miller of N.C., a sister Trudie Greenleaf of Divernon, IL., several grandchildren, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Betty Lou.  

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Bethany Cemetery near Lake Sangchris.  Masterson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
