Olga T. Gherardini, age 87, of Kincaid, died at 8:40 a.m. Friday January 28, 2011 in Meadow Manor Nursing Home at Taylorville.

Olga was born December 18, 1923 in Tovey, the daughter of Angelo and Tomasina Orlandini Gherardini. She graduated from Kincaid High School. She was employed by the U.S. Postal service for many years and was Postmaster at Kincaid from 1972 till her retirement in 1984. She was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church in Kincaid and the Alter and Rosary Society at St. Rita. She was a member of National Association of Postmasters of The United States and National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews including Kathleen (husband Larry) Peterson of Taylorville, who looked after Olga. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Paul Gherardini, Itolo Gherardini, Tony Gherardini, Leo Gherardini; and sisters, Pia Dalpoas, and Bruna Jones.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 5, 2011 at St. Rita Catholic Church in Kincaid. Father Alan Hunter officiated. Cremation rights were accorded following the Mass and inurnment was at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville. Pallbearers were Robert "Bobby" Gherardini, David Gherardini, Larry Glowacki, David Glowacki, Larry Peterson and Dominic Dalpoas.

Visitation was from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday February 4, 2011 at Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid. A Prayer Service was held at 4:45 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
