Mrs. Norma Jean Ryan, 88, of Ridgedale, MO formerly of Assumption, IL passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Point Lookout Nursing and Rehab facility in Hollister, MO.
She was born November 26, 1925 in Riverton, IL the daughter of William and Ursela (Leady) Roseberry. Mrs. Ryan graduated from Springfield High School. She married Gerald T. Ryan in 1949 in Assumption, IL and he preceded her in death August 5, 1982.
Mrs. Ryan was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Branson, MO since 1971. Other memberships include St. Mary's Altar Society and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary both in Assumption, IL.
Norma Jean worked as a Ward Clerk at Skaggs Community Hospital in Branson, MO for 21 years. She had also worked at the ammunition plant in Illiopolis, and ran a day care in Ridgedale, MO.
Surviving are 6 sons Jack (Deborah) Ryan of Kincaid, IL Tom Ryan of Springfield, MO Jerry Ryan of Decatur, IL Rick (Beth) Ryan of Ozark, MO Michael Ryan of Lampe, MO Paul (Lisa) Ryan of Wentzville, MO a daughter Marian (Phil) Dodson of Ridgedale, MO 3 brothers Bill Roseberry of Taylorville, IL John Roseberry of Springfield, IL Paul Roseberry of Harrisburg, PA a sister Judy Roseberry of Ore Valley, AZ., grandchildren Kim Ryan, Nathan Ryan, Melissa White, Luke Ryan, Anne Marie Dodson, Heather Ryan, Lee Ann Thorn, Sarah Ryan, Jake Ryan, Zach Dodson, Ricky Dodson and Emma Ryan, great-grandchildren Hudson White, Sophia Dodson, Makayne Ryan, and Paul Ryan along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gerald T. Ryan, a brother George Roseberry and a sister Mary Cearlock.
A Funeral Mass was held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 31, 2013 in St. Rita's Catholic Church, Kincaid, IL Fr. Alan Hunter officiated. Visitation was held from 9:00 to 10:00 AM Tuesday at the church. Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid, IL handled arrangements. A Funeral Mass was held at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Branson, MO on Monday, December 30, 2013.
