Norma Jean (Ariana) Bourlard

Mrs. Norma Jean Bourlard, 98, of Kincaid passed from this life at 6:15 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2024 in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield.

She was born in Decatur Illinois, to Jennie Baratta and James J Ariana, Sr. A graduate of Kincaid High School and then Brown Business College in Springfield.

On June 21,1953 Norma married Arthur L Bourlard, he preceded her in Death on July 27, 1999. She and Art enjoyed many years of bowling and playing pinochle in her card clubs.

After 35 years, Norma retired in 1991, from the State of Illinois, Secretary of States Office and the Illinois State Senate.

Norma started singing in St. Rita’s Choir when she was 6 years old and sang for many Weddings, Funerals and social events in the area.

Norma was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church, St. Rita’s Altar Society, American Legion Auxillary and South Fork Senior Citizens.

She is survived by son David (Denise) Bourlard of Kincaid. Four Grand Daughters,  Mindy (Cory) Tedesco,  Ariana (Patrick) O’Neill,  Ashley Selzer and Jayden Neal.  Grandsons, Marc Bourlard, Zachary Selzer, Dalton (Courtney) Pop.  Niece Linda Constant. Six Great Grand Daughters and one Great Grandson along with several Nieces and Nephews.

She is preceded in Death by, her parents Jennie and James Ariana Sr., Husband, Arthur Bourlard, Son Michael Bourlard, Daughter Terri Selzer, Grand Daughter Brianna, Brother and Sister In Law James Ariana Jr. and Marilyn and Sisters In Law Dorothy Aymer and Louise Bosendorfer.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Rita’s Church, Kincaid American Legion Post 905 or Auxillary, or the Charity of your choice.

Visitation will be at St. Rita’s Catholic Church from 9a.m. to 11a.m. on Saturday August 3, 2024 followed by Mass and Graveside Service.  Condolences may also be left at mastersonfh.com and will be forwarded to her family.
