Mrs. Hattie G. (Lorenz) Adams

Mrs. Hattie G. Adams, 98, of Taylorville, IL passed from this life at 3:15 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2021 at Taylorville Care Center.

She was born in Pittsburg, KS on March 11, 1922 the daughter of Fred and Ethel (Armstrong) Lorenz.  Hattie graduated from Taylorville High School with the Class of 1940.  She married Mr. George E. Adams September 14, 1940 in Bowling Green, MO.  George preceded her in death September 1, 2000.

Mrs. Adams was a member of Davis Memorial Christian Church.  She worked longest in the lunchroom of Taylorville Junior High School from where she retired.  Hattie loved spending time with her family while vacationing in AZ, CA, CO, MO, NY and Meredosia, IL.

Surviving are a daughter Anita Netherton of Decatur, IL a daughter in law Marianne Adams of Taylorville, IL a sister Marietta (Jake) Watson of Decatur, IL 4 grandchildren Brad (Jennifer) Netherton, Brian Netherton, Dawn (J. D.) Hudson and Ricci Adams 8 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, one great-great-great grandson along with nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband George, 2 sons Ernie (2003) and Danny (2020) a son in law Don Netherton (2015) and a sister Ethel Steele.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March, 9, 2021 at Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid, IL.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, IL.  Visitation for Mrs. Adams will start shortly after 9 am on Tuesday, March 9th at Masterson’s in Kincaid.
