Mr. James G. "Bart" Bertoldo, 93, of Tovey, IL passed away at 6:30 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2016 at the home of his daughter Kathy in Girard, IL. He was born in Jeisyville, IL June 9, 1922 the son of James "LaConna" and Carrie (Burgess) Bertoldo. James married Gloria B. (Rossi) on March 1, 1947 at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Kincaid, IL. She preceded him in death June 6, 2014. Mr. Bertoldo attended St. Rita's Catholic Church in Kincaid, IL. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during W.W. II. Jim retired from Coal Mining in 1984. He loved spending time with his family and was a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather. James also loved fishing, bowling, T.V. Westerns and playing his harmonica. Surviving are 2 sons Brian (Vickie) Bertoldo of Kincaid, IL James R. Bertoldo of Tovey, IL daughter Katherine (Michael) Puccetti of Girard, IL 4 grandchildren Brian (Kenna) Bertoldo, Bridget (Don) Moomey, Michael J. (Alexandria) Puccetti and Katie Puccetti, 4 great grandchildren Shaye, Delaney, Brian Lee and Bella, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Gloria, and 2 brothers Albert and Irvin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2016 in St. Rita's Catholic Church, Kincaid, IL. Fr. Mariadas Chatla will officiate. Burial with full military honors by the Taylorville V.F.W. Post #4495 will follow.
