Mr. Dale Alan Adomitis, 71, of Kincaid passed from this life at 2:35 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2025, at his home.
He was born in Taylorville, IL on January 16, 1954, the son of Anton “Tony” and Ruth (Landers) Adomitis.
Dale graduated from the South Fork class of 1972. He then proudly served his country in the U. S. Army in Vietnam. He was an early trainer for the Taylorville Fire and Rescue Dive Team. He played softball for the Sassatelli Blues. Mr. Adomitis worked for 38 years for Larry Barry’s Tire Shop and 5 more for Neal Tire before retiring. He was a 20+ year member of the Kincaid American Legion Edwin Corpin Post 905 where he had just been elected to the post of Commander. He loved his work fixing tractor tires and spending time with family.
Surviving are a son Gary and companion Julie Schmidt, daughter Maggie (Dave) Ornberg all of Kincaid, IL a daughter April (Christopher) Carroll of Texas, a step-son Robert (Pam) Pritchard of Springfield, IL his companion Denise Evans of Kincaid, IL., 4 grandchildren Brady and fiancée Elizabeth Nation, Stacie (Josh) Hatfield, Autumn Blair, Matthew Carroll, 3 great grandchildren Sebastian Newberry, Harlyn Hatfield, Hendrix Hatfield, a sister Mary Daigh of Taylorville, IL 2 nieces Krystal (Josh) Mulvaney and Tabitha Harris along with 2 great nieces, 2 great nephews and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers Tony Lee and Jeff Adomitis.
Visitation for Dale A. Adomitis will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday the 18th at Masterson’s. Burial will then follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery with full military honors by the U. S. Army and the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County. After the burial a meal is planned at the American Legion in Kincaid.
