Max Harrison, age 71, of Tovey, died at 3:50 a.m. Wednesday March 9, 2011 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville.
Max was born July 31, 1939 in Taylorville, the son of Fred M. and Mary A. Klemm Harrison. He graduated from Kincaid High School in 1957. He served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War. He married Cynthia J. Dulakis on November 26, 1966 in Kincaid. He worked in highway maintenance for the Illinois Department of Transportation for over thirty years. He was a member of American Legion Post # 905 at Kincaid. He had coached little league baseball in Tovey and had been on the school board at Tovey Grade School. He was a big Cardinal fan and has gone to that big ball diamond in the sky.
He is survived by his wife Cynthia; daughters, Annette (fiancée Mark Szerletich) Kramer of Springfield, Michelle (husband Jeff) Lipscomb of North Aurora, Christina (husband Pat) Murphy of Pawnee; son, Patrick (wife Sara) Harrison of Kincaid; grandchildren, Kindra Kramer, Alex Harrison, Ashley Harrison, Grant Harrison, Jacob Lipscomb, Caleb Lipscomb; sisters, Patricia Smith and Gloria Henley, both of Kincaid; brothers, James (wife JoAnn) Harrison of Tovey and Michael (wife Marilyn) Harrison of Springfield.
His parents and his son, Max Harrison, preceded him in death.
Memorial Services was held at 10:00 a.m. Monday March 14, 2011 at Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid. Rev. Chad Foster officiated. Inurnment was in Horse Creek Cemetery at Pawnee. Visitation was from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday March 13, 2011 at Masterson Funeral Home.
