Mary Ward Obituary

Mrs. Mary Agnes (Brown) Ward, 59, of Laurinburg, North Carolina formerly of Kincaid, Illinois passed from this life on Sunday, June 27, 2021 in North Carolina. 

She was born in Streator, Illinois on Tuesday, September 26, 1961 the daughter of the late Herman and Marilyn (Baratta) Brown.   

Mary and her husband Skeet were owners of Ward’s Yard Service, serving the surrounding community for many years. She loved growing flowers, reading, and fishing. Mary most loved spending time with her family and friends. She will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by sisters, Barbara Barringer, Carol Barber, and Rosemarie Kounse.

Mary leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of 29 years, Arthur “Skeet” Elmer Ward, III of Laurinburg, North Carolina; son, Arthur Andrew “Andy” Ward (Jennifer) of Ft. Worth, TX; brothers, David G. Brown (Debbie) of Kershaw, SC, John Brown (Rhonda) of Tovey, IL, Herman Brown, Jr. (Stephanie) of Langleyville, IL; sisters, Karen Miller (Dale) of Nokomis, IL, Linda Ackerman (Leroy), Patti Rozplochowski, each of Taylorville, IL; only granddaughter, Illa Ward, along with her extended family and friends.

A memorial gathering (Visitation) will be held from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid, IL.  A short prayer service will conclude the service.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Pawnee.
