Mary Gasparin, age 88, of Kincaid, died at 5:11 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.

Mary was born December 5, 1922, in Hartshorne, OK, the daughter of Angelo and Angelina Bodo Gasparin. She worked at Simplicity Frocks in Kincaid for fifteen years.

After that she was a secretary at the South Fork Township office in Kincaid for more than twenty-two years, retiring in 1982. Mary was an active member and was very devoted to St. Rita Catholic Church in Kincaid. She aided the priests and worked in the church for over twenty years, as did her mother before her. She was a member of the Alter and Rosary Society at St. Rita.

She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 14, 2011, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Kincaid. Father Alan Hunter officiated and burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.
