Marilyn (Funk) Dulakis

Mrs. Marilyn Dulakis, 70, of Tovey, IL passed from this life at 2:59 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2019 at Taylorville Care Center.

She was born in Batchtown, IL May 3, 1949 the daughter of Paul and Rosalie (Pluester) Funk.  Marilyn married Gus Dulakis, Jr. April 3, 1971 in Springfield, IL.

Mrs. Dulakis briefly worked for the State of Illinois.  She was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church, and The Kincaid American Legion Post #905 Ladies Auxiliary.  She enjoyed playing bingo and watching the Illini play.  Marilyn, along with her husband Gus, have been active volunteers for many years with the South Fork Sports Boosters, helping to coordinate the kitchen for bingo.

Surviving are her husband Gus of Tovey, IL 3 sons: Steve (wife Kelly) Dulakis of Kincaid, IL; Michael (wife Wendy) Dulakis of Kincaid, IL; David (wife Amie) Dulakis of Chatham, IL; a daughter Karen (husband Dustin) Schlindwein of Pawnee, IL; 7 grandchildren: Jordan (wife Abby) Jackson, Markus Dulakis, Makayla Dulakis, Austin Tryon, Grace Dulakis, Taylor Schlindwein, and Nora Schlindwein, and 1 great grandson Maverick Jackson, 2 sisters: Ellen Funk and Barbara Funk both of Jerseyville, IL 4 brothers: Bill (wife Michelle) Funk of Grafton, IL; Kenny Funk of Lyndon, IL; Raymond (wife Vicki) Funk of Waterloo, IL; and Phillip (wife Wendy) Funk of Chicago, IL, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law Debra Funk.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kincaid, IL.  Visitation for Mrs. Marilyn Dulakis will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rita’s.  Interment of her ashes will be at a later date.  Masterson Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Kincaid has been entrusted with Marilyn’s care.  You may visit her online obituary and leave a condolence which will be printed and given to her family at www.mastersonfh.com
