Mrs. Lucy E. Porter, age 88, of Springfield, IL, formerly of Tovey, IL, died at 5:35 pm Friday January 20, 2012 in St. John's Hospice at Springfield.

Lucy was born February 9, 1923 in Fairfield, IL the daughter of Fred and Iva Kuster Wilson.

She married Richard H. Porter Sr. in September of 1949 in California. He preceded her in death on October 28, 1978.

She formerly worked at the Starlight Restaurant in Kincaid, K Mart and the Icie Rootbeer stand in Springfield, and as a caregiver in Tovey. She loved playing Bingo and driving her friends from Pope John Paul High Rise on their weekly errand runs.

She is survived by four children; Stanley Porter and wife Janice of Petersburg, Richard and companion Sheila Porter Jr. of Springfield, Winfred Irvin of Springfield, and Debra Porter of Springfield; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and a sister Marie Wells of Sims IL;

Her parents, her husband, 7 brothers and 4 sisters preceded her in death.

Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday January 24, 2012 in Oak Hill Cemetery Of Cooper Township near Buckhart, IL. Rev. Michael Mayberry officiated. There was no visitation.

Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid, IL is in charge of arrangements.
