June 4, 1926 ~ April 23, 2015 (age 88) 88 Years Old

June Patterson Jones passed away April 23, 2015 at ( 11:00pm.) She was a resident of The Fountains IV Assisted Living in Godfrey, IL.

She was born June 4, 1926 in Hettic, IL to the late William E. Patterson and Elizabeth A (Brown) Patterson. June's family moved to Kincaid, IL in her early childhood where they were lifelong residents. She was married in Springfield, IL to Glenn E. Jones of Bulpitt, IL on December 19, 1944 and made their home in Bulpitt, IL.

June had a long career with and retired from the State of Illinois, where she had several secretarial positions. She ended her career as Executive Secretary for the Secretary of State.

June did take a few years from her career to raise two sons. She greatly enjoyed being with her family and was a very active participant in her family's life; including church, sports, camping, boating, mate to her husband, and a wonderful role model to her children and all whom she came in contact . She participated in The Order of the Eastern Star, becoming a Worthy Matron, The Red Hat Society, and was a member of The Mayflower Society. She and Glenn spent their retirement years divided between Bulpitt, IL and Naples, FL. Besides friends and family she enjoyed reading, knitting, and of course "soap operas".

June was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn E., her son John W., her sister Norma (Yerley) Shutt, and a great granddaughter Margo Helling. She had a profoundly positive influence on family and extended family. She is survived by her son and his wife Harry B Jones and Victoria L Cox-Jones of Estes Park, CO; Harry's children Samantha C Jones, Las Vegas, NV, and Alexis N Jones, Sacramento, CA; her Daughter In Law Barbara Jones, Alton, IL; Barbara and John's children and their spouses Aaron and Nikki Jones, Alton, IL, Emily B and Corey Helling, Alton, IL; and three great grandchildren Andrew and Dylan Jones, and Evelyn Helling. She is also survived by her younger sister and her husband Betty L and Thomas V Boerio, Columbia, MO, and the wonderful families of both sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm Friday, May 1st, at Masterson Funeral Home, 146 Central Ave., Kincaid, IL and all are welcome. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
