Judy K. Masterson

Judy Kay Masterson, 81, of Kincaid, passed away on Saturday, July 5th, 2025 at Bridgeway Pointe Assisted Living in Cincinnati, Ohio.

She was born on Sunday, May 28, 1944 in Litchfield, Illinois, the daughter of Ceasar and Marie (Harrison) Ricci. She married the love of her life, Richard J. Masterson, on October 6, 1962 and he preceded her in death on August 1, 2022. 

Richard and Judy ran the Masterson Funeral Home for many years before their son Michael took over.  Judy graduated from Taylorville High School in 1962. She was a licensed cosmetologist and provided extensive and invaluable support to the family business, Masterson Funeral Home, until she and Richard retired in 2017.  Judy was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kincaid, IL and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was an avid bowler, knitter, and fan of doing ceramics in her younger years. She sacrificed greatly for her family and was a beloved aunt and friend to many. She loved laughing and having fun until the end.

Surviving among others are her son Michael (wife Amy) Masterson of Tovey, IL., grandchildren: Jacob Masterson of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Alison Riva of Tovey, IL.  Along with several in-laws, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and grandson Michael J. Masterson Jr.

A private family services were held and she was buried next to Richard at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.
