Juanita Frances (Ragan Florini) Fesser, 94 formerly of Kincaid, Illinois and Shelbyville, Illinois died at 10:30am on September 10th, 2014 in Bloomington, Indiana, where she had lived for the past 12 years. Fran was a strong woman with a deep work ethic as well as a loving mother and grandmother.

Fran was born August 12th, 1920 in Clarksburg Township, Shelby County to Harley Paul and Esther Smith Ragan. She and her beloved sister Norma moved to Shelbyville and worked in the local store in order to graduate from Shelbyville High School. She married Duvelio (Dove) Florini, on September 12th, 1942, and had a son, Robert. She helped run the Florini Tavern and worked at Sears and Roebuck in Shelbyville, and was a member of the First Christian Church in Shelbyville.

After Dove's death, she married Melvin A.Fesser of Jeisyville, Illinois on January 4th 1964. They lived together in Kincaid, Illinois for many years and were an active part of the community there. Fran could often be found in the Midland United Methodist Church of Kincaid, cooking or serving at a fish fry or spaghetti supper. She also worked in Dr. Torrcelli's office and was City Clerk of Kincaid for several years prior to retirement. She and Melvin enjoyed many years of fishing at Lake Taylorville and visiting with their friends there, as well as traveling to Fort Myers for the winter. They spent a great deal of time with their son Bob and his two daughters.

Surviving are her son, Robert Dove Florini; granddaughters Dr. Beth Florini (Chris Gaal) and Dr. Sarah Florini (Rob Kolhouse). She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Malachi Florini Britton and Ava Florini Gaal, as well as her nieces Debra Shoaff (Bill) and Diane Schultz (Mark), great-nieces and nephews Mark Shoaff, Miranda Carr (Dustin), AJ Harless (McKenna) and Zach Harless; and her dear friend and caregiver Jane Hawkins.

She was predeceased by her mother and father, Esther and Harley Ragan, sister Norma (Ragan Holland) Young, brother Terry Ragan, husbands Duvelio Florini and Melvin Fesser.

Fran's family would like to thank the staff of Station 4 at Garden Villa and IU Health Hospice for their care of Fran during the past year of her life.

Services were held at Masterson's Funeral Home in Kincaid Illinois on Saturday, September 13, 2014 with visitation from 10:30 am to noon and services immediately following. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, Illinois.
