Josephine (Toigo) Magos

Mrs. Josephine Magos, 104 of Tovey, IL., passed from this life at the home of her daughter on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at 6:45 P.M.

She was born in Fonzaso, Italy on Thursday, October 6, 1921 the daughter of Francesco and Maria (Celestina) Toigo.

Josephine married Andrew Magos on September 26, 1942 in Kincaid, IL and he preceded her in death March 2, 1976.

Mrs. Magos was a faithful member of St. Rita Catholic Church in Kincaid.  She had previously worked for the Simplicity Dress Factory in Kincaid, IL., the Illinois Secretary of State and Horace Mann in Springfield, IL.  Josephine was a member of St. Rita's Alter and Rosary Society, and a former member of the Quilting Club.  She loved Polka Dancing and cherished the time she was able to spend with family and friends.

Surviving are her daughter JoAnn (husband James) Harrison of Tovey, IL., 3 grandchildren Jolene (husband Greg) Lockwood of Decatur, IL., James Harrison of Springfield, IL and Jeff (wife Shannon) Harrison of Pawnee, IL., 9 great-grandchildren: Camille (Michael) Allen, Marina (Kyle) Beiker, Aleta (Damon) Handegan, Lydia (Ian) Keys, Andrew "Drew" Lockwood, Garren Lockwood, Ella Harrison, Maura Harrison, Lyla Harrison, 5 great-great grandchildren: Kiah Allen, Bryar Allen, Raylin Handegan, Huxley Handegan, Matthew Beiker, along with several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Andrew, a daughter Andrea Hargis, 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 22, 2026 at St. Rita Catholic Church - 30 St. Rita's Ct. - Kincaid, IL. with Fr. John Burnette officiating. Burial will follow next to her beloved husband Andrew in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville.  Visitation for Mrs. Josephine Magos will be held from Noon to 1:00 P.M.
