John J. Sebben

Mr. John J. Sebben, 71, of Tovey, IL passed from this life at 6:00 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2022 at his home in Tovey, IL.

He was born in Langleyville, IL October 12, 1951 the son of Victor and Roberta (Hunt) Sebben.

John at one time was very active in local Bocci Leagues, he enjoyed playing pool, darts, poker machines and especially spending time with family and friends.  He was a Die-Hard Cubs fan. 

Surviving are daughters Shannon (Ray) Melton of Edinburg, IL., Jackie Sebben of Kincaid, IL., Elaine (Mike) Cauble of Tovey, IL., Mindy Taylor of Taylorville, IL., and a son Travis Tanner of Tovey, IL., along with 7 grandchildren Alyssa Hudson, Jayde Hudson, Stephanie Johnson, Courtney McClintock, Brad-Lee Melton, Gracie Shemwell, Cierra Boline, a sister Diane Chevalier, 2 brothers Kevin Sebben and Greg Sebben and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Heather Hudson, his long time companion Ada Tanner, a sister Linda Dugan, and 3 grandsons Chad Melton, Brayden Hudson and Darian Sebben Williams.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid is assisting with arrangements. Burial will take place at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 26, 2022 in Bethany Cemetery near Lake Sangchris.
