Jean F. (Cummings) Pagliai

Mrs. Jean F. Pagliai, 95, of Kincaid, IL passed from this life at 1:30 a.m. Friday, October 25, 2024, at Carriage Crossing in Taylorville, IL.

She was born in Taylorville, IL January 28, 1929, the daughter of William and Anna (Gatewood) Cummings, Sr.

Jean married John E. Long in 1946, and he preceded her in death in 1968.  She later married Peter “Pete” Pagliai June 29, 1993, in Taylorville, IL and he preceded her in death February 2, 2002.

Mrs. Pagliai owned and operated Long’s Restaurant and later the Starlight restaurant in Kincaid for over 50 years.  She was a hard worker her whole life.

Surviving are 2 children: John M. (Linda) Long of Kincaid, IL Sharon (Bob) Michel of R.R Taylorville, IL 5 grandchildren Shelly Christopher, John E. (Kim) Long, Michelle Smith, Bobbi (Mike) Champley, and Chad (Tanya) Michel 6 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, siblings Carolin (Harry) Summers and Richard Cummings of Christopher, IL, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands John E. Long and “Pete” Pagliai, a daughter Luella Jean Leesman, and siblings William Cummings, Jr., Grace Cornwell, Helen Booker, Mary Ann Anderson, Robert “Bob” Cummings, and Shelby Behl.

Graveside services for Mrs. Jean F. Pagliai will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2024, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville with Rev. Chad Foster officiating.  Masterson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
