Mr. James Stanley Minnis, 86 of Naples, FL and Evanston, IL died Saturday, May 2, 2015.

He was born in Taylorville, IL the oldest son of Harley K. and Florence M. (Weddle) Minnis.

Jim will be remembered for his sense of humor and storytelling. He attended Washington University and Northwestern University, graduating with a degree in business. He was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He spent his entire career working for corporate leaders in the package machinery manufacturing industry. He managed both domestic and international businesses.

Jim is a past President of the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI). An Avid Golfer, Jim was a member of Foxfire Country Club and for more than 35 years, a member of Skokie Country Club, Glencoe, IL.

He is survived by his wife Margaret (Haas) Minnis; two children, Janet (Michael) Wyman of Glencoe, IL and James Stanley (Christina) Minnis, Jr. of New York, NY. He got his joy from his grandchildren Charlotte and Jenna Wyman, and Andrew, Katherine, and Clare Minnis.

A Memorial Celebration of Life for James Stanley Minnis will be held on July 8, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church in Edinburg, Illinois. The service will begin at 11:00 AM with family receiving friends at the Church beginning at 10:30 AM. A luncheon for all will follow. Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid is serving the family of James Minnis.
