Mr. James Edgar Dipert, 72, of Taylorville, IL, passed away Saturday, November 9th in the comfort of his home. His family is grateful to Jaclyn Pugsley for her kind, faithful care that made this possible and to Hospice for providing extra support during his final two weeks.
Jim was born January 5, 1947, in Michigan City, Indiana, the son of Orlo and Jean (Killingbeck) Dipert. He married Cynthia Marie Hartwig on June 29, 1968, in Michigan City, and they shared 46 wonderful years before her passing on July 14, 2014.
Mr. Dipert was a member of St. Rita's Catholic Church in Kincaid. He trained to be a baker at Oklahoma State Tech and spent most of his career with Kroger and County Market. In 2009, he opened his own bakery in Taylorville, Confection Connections. Jim was as sweet as the treats he made, always lending a hand to help anyone and everyone. He was an active volunteer for Kincaid Meals on Wheels, loved boating, traveling the world with his wife, and spending time with friends.
Mr. Dipert is survived by his brother, Richard Dipert of Michigan City, IN, his sister, Patricia Street of Jackson, MI, several nieces and nephews, his "adopted" grandson, Miles Campbell, "adopted" granddaughter, Kendall Moehring, and many close and cherished friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Carol Hunsick of Michigan City, IN, and his wife Cynthia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Kincaid Meals on Wheels.
Memorial Mass will be held at 11 am Friday, November 22 at St. Rita Catholic Church, Kincaid. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to service at the church. Masterson Funeral Home and Cremation Service has been entrusted with his care.
