Iris K. (Schulte) Anderson

Mrs. Iris K. Anderson, 79, of Bulpitt, IL passed from this life at 3:53 P.M. Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Taylorville, IL on June 27, 1945, the daughter of Lawrence H. and Henrietta A. (Ess) Schulte.  Iris married Paul E. “Gene” Anderson April 24, 1964, in Edwardsville, IL.  He preceded her in death October 28, 2007.

Iris was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church in Kincaid.  She worked as an LPN for St. Vincent Memorial Hospital for more than 8 years.  Mrs. Anderson is a former Mayor and current Trustee of the Village of Bulpitt.  She taught catechism at St. Rita’s.  Iris also formerly worked as a home healthcare caregiver.  She loved flower gardening, was a selfless giver, and a loving mother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her many friends.

Surviving are her daughter Shannon Lawrence and her companion Kenneth Dillon of Athens, IL., 6 grandchildren Branden (wife Andrea) Lawrence, Casey Anderson, Matthew Anderson, Lissa Anderson, Tessa Anderson, Emma Anderson, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers Tarrant “Sonny” (Debbie) Schulte of Fillmore, IL., and Trent Schulte of Kincaid along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene, a son Sean Anderson, a brother Dennis Schulte and 3 sisters Patricia Merano, Doris Peel, and Ethel Mansfield.

Visitation for Mrs. Iris Anderson will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Masterson Funeral Home and from 10 to 11 am Thursday, August 29, at St. Rita Catholic Church, both in Kincaid, IL.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at St. Rita Catholic Church.  Fr. Piotr Kosk will officiate with burial following at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Taylorville, IL.
