Howard J. ("Snookie") Davis

Mr. Howard J. “Snookie” Davis, 88, of Kincaid, IL passed from this life at 3:32 P.M. Wednesday, October 9, 2024, in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.

He was born on March 19, 1936, in Chicago, IL the son of Howard J. and Thelma (Warren) Davis. 

Mr. Davis married Eloise E. Durbin on July 1, 1964, in Taylorville, IL.

Howard “Snookie” was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kincaid.  Mr. Davis worked for over 50 years as a Union Boilermaker out of the Belleville Local 363. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, vegetable gardening, riding his motorcycle, 4 wheeler, and golf cart, drinking coffee with his friends at the restaurant, and spending time with his family but, he especially loved the time spent playing with his grandchildren. 

Surviving are his wife Eloise of Kincaid, children Bill (Stacy) Davis of Kincaid, IL Mike Davis of Kincaid, IL Mizzy (Steve) Tischkau of Farmersville, IL Rachel Passoni of Bloomington, IL Elaine (Jeff) Thomason of Taylorville, IL Patty Donnie) Sams of Taylorville, IL grandchildren William (Jennifer) Davis, Leslie (Marc) Keppler, Tanner, Dillon, Alex Tischkau, Colton Tischkau, Keane Rogers, Noah Passoni, Jasmyn Passoni, Tara Belsher, Cara Belsher, Colton Sams, great-grandchildren Audriana Davis, Austyn Davis, Benjamin Keppler and Camden Keppler along with nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers Bill Davis and Tommy Davis.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 14, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. with services to follow at 11:00 A.M. at Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid, IL.  Sister Rose McKeown will officiate.  Burial will be in Horse Creek Cemetery, Pawnee, IL.
