Helen R. (Murley) Burney

Ms. Helen R. Burney, 90, of Bulpitt, IL passed from this life at 9:23 a.m. Sunday, January 3, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Tolar, TX.

She was born in Bonham, TX on Saturday, January 18, 1930 the daughter of Olen & Edith (Miller) Murley.  Helen married Charlie Richard Burney, Jr. May 23, 1946 in Wellington, TX.  He preceded her in death August 22, 1977.

Helen had worked as a bus driver with South Fork School District years ago and stayed busy helping raise her beloved grandchildren and a few great grandchildren.

Surviving are: a daughter Mary (Harry) Bandy and son Curtis Burney of Bulpitt, IL., daughters’ Linda Waters, LouAnn (Lonnie) Pack, Karen (Paul) Hollaway, and Charlene Burney all of Tolar, TX., a son Bruce Burney of Glen Rose, TX., along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband and 3 sons Joseph Burney, James “Red” Burney and Charles Burney. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Masterson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kincaid, IL.  Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, IL.  Visitation for Mrs. Helen R. Burney will be held for one hour before her service at Masterson’s.  Masks are required along with all other standard Covid 19 precautions.
