Mrs. Ethel O'Dell Cairel, 102, of Kincaid, IL passed away at 7:10 A.M. Wednesday, October 29, 2014 in Meadow Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehab, Taylorville, IL.

Ethel was born in Altoona, AL on May 28, 1912 the daughter of Robert and Emma (Elliott) Hurtte. She married John Franklin "Frank" Cairel on June 12, 1933 in Logan, IL. He preceded her in death on November 9, 1988.

Mrs. Cairel was a member of the Kincaid Baptist Church. She formerly worked as a seamstress at the Cardinal Dress Factory in Kincaid, IL. Ethel liked fishing and loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are a son Jack (Janice) Cairel of Stark, FL a daughter Melba (Albert) Burchi of Kincaid, IL 6 grandchildren Marsha (Joe) Sutorus of Middleton, FL Sherry (Norman, Jr.) Kirkendoll of Jacksonville, FL Mike (Cindy) Cairel of Christmas, FL Alan (Renee) Burchi, Jack (Shannon) Burchi and Robin (Bob) Beloit all of Kincaid, IL 10 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren a brother Rayford Hurtte of Taylorville, IL a sister-in-law Martha Purcell of Benton, IL and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death her parents, husband, 3 brothers Oren, Ralph and Lester Hurtte and 2 sisters Elva Bower and Juanell Wright.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 3, 2014 at Masterson Funeral Home, Kincaid, IL Rev Louis Kunz from the Kincaid Baptist Church officiated. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, IL. Visitation for Mrs. Cairel was held for one hour before the service at Masterson Funeral Home.
