Edward D. Bialas

Mr. Edward D. Bialas, 87, of Tovey, IL passed from this life at 7:44 AM on Monday, June 1, 2026, at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.

He was born in Tovey, IL on Friday, July 15, 1938, the son of Antoni and Antonina (Kozdeba) Bialas.

Mr. Bialas worked for just a couple years at Peabody Mine #10 but most of his working career he spent at Allis-Chalmers in Springfield, IL from where he retired.  He later worked in the construction business.

Edward enjoyed playing bocce ball, fishing, hunting, camping in his RV, traveling, and having a good time with his friends and family.  Mr. Bialas was formerly very active with HAM radio.  He won 2nd place in 1990 at the Kincaid Labor Day car show with his DeLorean and 1st place there in 1991 with his Corvette.

Surviving are his sister Rose Coady of Taylorville, IL along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a great-great niece and great-great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers John and Amiel “Moe” Bialas.

Visitation for Mr. Ed Bialas will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM on Saturday June 13, 2026, at Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid, IL.  Graveside services will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, IL.
