Mrs. Delores E. Howard, 81, of Tovey, IL passed away at 10:11 am Monday, July 9, 2012 at her home.

She was born in Tovey, IL March 21, 1931 the daughter of Sarafa and Medea (Verardi) Brida. Delores married William "Bill" Howard October 21, 1950 in Kincaid, IL. Mr. Howard preceded her in death May 18, 1999.

Mrs. Howard was a member of St. Rita's Catholic Church, Kincaid, IL. She worked as a Group Leader in the Renewals Department for Horace Mann Companies retiring in 1993 after 23 years of service. She loved playing cards.

Surviving are her son Mark and his wife Debbie Howard of Tovey, IL 2 granddaughters Ali and husband Ryan Waller of Decatur, IL Vanessa and husband Sean Brennan of Springfield, IL and 5 great-grandchildren Stone, Steele, Slate, Maxwell and Sean.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill in 1999, a daughter Patricia Ann in 1957 and her brother Rudy Brida.

Mass of Christian Burial were held at 11:00 am Thursday, July 12, 2012 at St. Rita's Catholic Church, Kincaid. Fr. Alan Hunter officiated. Visitation was held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday at Masterson Funeral Home, Kincaid. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, IL.
