Mrs. Cynthia Marie Dipert, 66, of Taylorville, Illinois passed away at 5:50 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014 in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, Illinois.

She was born August 15th, 1947 in Michigan City, Indiana, the daughter of John and Dorothy (Skibinski) Hartwig. She married James E. Dipert on June 29, 1968 in Michigan City, Indiana, and they shared 46 wonderful years.

Mrs. Dipert was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylorville, Illinois. She graduated from Purdue University and received a Master's Degree in Education from Illinois State University. She taught at various schools, including St. Mary's Grade School in Taylorville, special education at Mt. Auburn, Illinois, and special education and 6th grade science in the Taylorville, Illinois school system. Mrs. Dipert was currently teaching "E Reading" at the Taylorville Junior High School and Lincoln Land Community College. She was a beloved teacher who brought the joy of learning into the classroom. She also loved to travel and visited places far and near, making new friends wherever she went.

Mrs. Dipert is survived by her husband, Jim Dipert, of Taylorville; a sister, Patricia Fraze, of La Porte, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014 in St. Rita's Catholic Church, Kincaid, Illinois. Fr. Dan Willenborg officiated. Visitation for Mrs. Dipert was held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid, Illinois. A prayer service was held at 6:45 Monday evening at the funeral home.
