Barbara "Fern" (Henley) Chance

Mrs. Barbara “Fern” Chance, 91 of Kincaid, IL passed peacefully from this life at 2:10 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.

She was born in Switchback, W.V. February 12, 1929 the daughter of Archie C. and Lorena C. (Clark) Henley.  Fern married Bobby Gene Chance in 1947 at the Kincaid United Methodist Church.  He preceded her in death June 19, 2020.

Mrs. Chance was a member of Taylorville United Methodist Church and a former member of the St. Vincent Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.  She loved being a snowbird in Florida and cherished the time she got to spend with her family, especially her grandchildren. 

Surviving are: 3 daughters Cheryl (David) Menossi of Taylorville, IL., Janet Meikle of Taylorville, IL Barbara (Bill) Mulvaney of Kincaid, IL grandchildren Chris Menossi, Chad Menossi, Angie (Eric) Gerlach, Lisa (Dustin Lush) Mulvaney, Danny Meikle, Jason Mulvaney great-grandchildren Jordyn Gerlach, Kaylee Gerlach, Owen Mulvaney, Greylon Mulvaney, Jalynn Lush, Millie Lush, Salem Meikle and Jace Meikle along with nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bobby and 3 brothers Wayne Henley, Donald Henley, and Harold Henley.

Private family graveside services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, IL.  Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid, IL is assisting her family with arrangements.
