Janice Hunt Obituary

Janice Irene Hunt Passed peacefully from this life on June 8, 2019 with family at her home in Hobart, IN.  Born in Salem, IL on March 23, 1946 to Doyle and Stella (nee Ritter) Mulvaney, Janice was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother.

Janice (nee Mulvaney) Hunt graduated from Edinburg High School, and enjoyed playing basketball, horse barrel racing, and was voted the prom queen.

After graduation, she married Duane L. Hunt on May 30, 1964 and moved to the Chicago area.  They were a couple that were never far apart and recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 2014 before Duane passed away on March 23, 2016.

Despite chronic health challenges Janice lived life with positivity and was a faithful servant of Jesus.  She successfully raised her son, pursued and career working her way up to being a sales and training director with Mary Kay Cosmetics, and later a corporate trainer with ACME Steel Corporation.  She loved being able to teach and mentor others.  She was a proud mother of a Marine Corps officer, and a loving sister and aunt, a vehement supporter of family and others in need, and absolutely loved spending time with her two granddaughters.  She was a generous, gracious, Christian lady who loved God and sought to live with integrity and honor, and treat others with the respect, love, and friendship as Jesus calls us to do.

Surviving is her son LtCol (ret) Craig S. Hunt and his wife Kristie of Valparaiso, IN, her granddaughters, Samantha and Josephine Hunt; brothers and sisters, Merle Mulvaney of Fairfax, VA, Verle Mulvaney of Kinmundy, IL, Joyce (husband Everett) Ayers of New Minden, Judy (husband Terry) Prasun of Stonington, IL, Donald (wife Janet) Mulvaney of Opelika, AL, and many nieces and nephews who she all loved and who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her bothers, Gale Mulvaney, and Dale Mulvaney.

She was a strong supporter of charities and veterans support organizations, so donations or memorials in loving memory of Janice I. Hunt are suggested to American Liver Foundation, National Foundation for Transplants, and Wounded Warrior Project or Gary Sinise Foundation.
