Helen P (Williams) Smothers

Mrs. Helen P. Smothers, 94, of Kincaid, IL passed from this life at 12:45 a.m. Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Taylorville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.

She was born in Logan, IL June 21, 1929 the daughter of Alonzo and Dolly (Howard) Williams.  Helen married Everett "Dusty" Smothers on June 21, 1945 in Taylorville, IL.  Dusty preceded her in death on November 23, 2011.

Mrs. Smothers was a member of the Kincaid Church of God.  She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

Surviving are 4 children: Ronald (wife Karen) Smothers of Kincaid, IL., Betty Fabian (companion Tom Panzino) of Taylorville, IL., Everett LeRoy Smothers and Mike Smothers both of Decatur, IL., 8 grandchildren, several great, great-great and great-great-great grandchildren along with nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dusty, daughter Janice Kay Smothers, son Robert "Bob" Smothers, daughter-in-law Gaylene S. Smothers, granddaughter Heather Hudson, great grandson Chad Melton, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Visitation for Mrs. Helen P. Smothers will be held from 9:30 am to 10:30 am Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at the Kincaid Church of God -120 Market Street - Kincaid, IL.  Funeral services will immediately follow at the church.  Pastor Vance Massengill will officiate. Burial will then take place at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Taylorville.  Masterson Funeral Home, Kincaid is assisting her family with arrangements.
