Mrs. Ruth Roan (Meadows) Townsley, 75, of Auburn, IL formerly of Tovey, IL passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL.

She was born in Ridge Farm, IL November 14, 1940 the daughter of Alfred and Ruth (Reid) Meadows.  Ruth married John L. Townsley in 1956 at Taylorville, IL.  He preceded her in death March 20, 2013.

Mrs. Townsley was a member of Midland United Methodist Church while living in this area.

Surviving are a daughter Annette (Martin) Wolfe of Oregon, IL John (Susan) Townsley of St. Charles, MO., 1 sister Connie (Steve) Damery of Springfield, IL., 4 grandchildren Rachel Wolfe of Santa Monica, CA., Erik Wolfe of Aurora, CO., Steven Townsley and Emily Townsley both of St. Louis, MO., along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John and an infant brother.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2016 at Masterson Funeral Home, Kincaid, IL.  Pastor J. Steven Smith will officiate.  Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, IL.  Visitation for Mrs. Townsley will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Masterson Funeral Home.   You may also leave on –line condolences at www.mastersonfh.com and they will be forwarded to the family.
