James "Jimmy" Ariana

December 29, 1921 ~ April 4, 2017 (age 95) 95 Years Old


James J. “Jimmy” Ariana, Jr., 95, of Kincaid, IL passed away at 1:40 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at St. John’s Hospice in Springfield, IL.

He was born in Kincaid, IL December 29, 1921 the son of James Joseph and Jennie (Baratta) Ariana.  Jimmy married Marilyn Corpin on June 8, 1947 at St. Rita Catholic Church in Kincaid.

Mr. Ariana was a member and usher at St. Rita in Kincaid.  He was also a lifetime member at the Kincaid Knights of Columbus, member of the Postal Retirees, and member of the Edwin Corpin American Legion Post #905 in Kincaid where he was very active and was fond of participating in making garlic sausage and in many other things there.  He was a life-long Chicago Cubs fan.  Jimmy served in the U.S. Army during W.W.II.  He first worked for the Chicago Illinois Midland Railroad, then at Mine #10 for 8 years and finished his career working for the U. S. Postal Service retiring after 39 years in 1993.

Surviving are his wife Marilyn of Kincaid, IL a daughter Linda Constant of Springfield, his sister Norma Bourlard of Kincaid, IL a grandson Aaron Douglas Miller of Chicago, IL along with nieces and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 8, 2017 at St. Rita Catholic Church, Kincaid.  Mnsgr. David Lantz will officiate.  Visitation for Mr. Ariana will be held from 9 to 11 am Saturday at the church.  Burial will be at a later date.   Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid is assisting the family with arrangements.
